Things To Do in Oliver, BC
A Local’s Guide to Wine Country + Wellness

Oliver, BC is known as Canada’s Wine Capital, but there’s so much more to do here than just wine tasting. As a long-time local and owner of Athina’s Desert Day Spa and Athina’s Hidden Banya, here are some of my favourite things to do in and around Oliver.

1. Tour Local Wineries
From small family vineyards to award-winning estates, you’ll find incredible wine and beautiful views all over the South Okanagan. Some well-loved options include Burrowing Owl, Hester Creek, Tinhorn Creek, Phantom Creek, and more.

2. Experience a Nordic-Inspired Sauna & Cold Plunge
If you’re looking for something unique to do in Oliver, our backyard sauna and cold plunge at Athina’s Hidden Banya is a must-do. It’s a cozy, intimate setting with a cedar sauna, cold plunges, and a calm desert garden feel — perfect after a day of wine touring or hiking.

3. Get Pampered at Athina’s Desert Day Spa
My spa has been a local favourite for over 25 years for facials, massage, IPL hair removal, and relaxing body and nail services. It’s a great add-on to your wine weekend, girls’ trip, or couples getaway.

4. Hike and Explore the Desert Landscape
There are beautiful walking and hiking options in the area — from trails and pathways to lakefront strolls. The landscape is unique, with desert hills, sagebrush, and vineyard views.

5. Visit Local Markets and Fruit Stands
In the warmer months, you’ll find fresh fruit, vegetables, honey, and local products at farm stands and markets throughout Oliver and the South Okanagan.

Whether you’re here for a quick visit or you live nearby, adding a sauna session, Bliss Ritual, or spa treatment to your time in Oliver can make your trip feel extra special.

Book a sauna session at Athina’s Hidden Banya or a treatment at Athina’s Desert Day Spa to round out your Oliver experience.
